Founder and Owner

Flowers and landscape design have always been a source of joy for me. From my early teenage years in southern California, I have had an outsized interest in learning about gardening, which I satisfied through watching hours of Victory Gardens on PBS or at my first job at Roger’s Gardens in Newport Beach (on reflection that was probably a little different from what my peers were doing!). My professional life led me inside, where I worked (and still do in the off season) as a research editor, with gardening becoming a weekend hobby. While my kids were in elementary school, I found a different way to scratch the gardening itch: I volunteered at Oak Park's St. Giles School where I helped lead the fundraising and installation of the school garden, initiated and co-chaired the plant sale fundraiser, and assisted in beautifying the campus by planting hundreds of daffodil bulbs with the students. In 2019, my husband and I decided to turn our backyard into my dream garden with a little room for vegetables and a lot of room for flowers. I was fortunate to work with Ave Zuccarino of Kiave Design where we clicked over a common design aesthetic and a mutual love of plants. Ave graciously mentored me as I launched Foxglove and Spruce.
